French cavalry officer sword, pattern 1767

French cavalry officer sword, pattern 1767, early model.

All brass mounting.

Big round pommel engraved with typical vertical lines design.

All brass wired grip, fully functionnal « pas d’âne » (the two fingers rings are fully usefull and not, as later, only ornaments).

Very exceptional large « Colichemarde » type blade (3 cm on rear for 84,3 cm lenght), in grey patina. It is finely engraved on rear and on both sides, with palms and geometrical designs and a woman face in an oval frame (some very light rust near the tip of the blade).

Good XVIIIth century black leather on wood scabbard, with two brass elements ornate with lines (the upper one with both a button and a little brass ring).
