Indian Pesh-kabz, mid XVIIIth century.

Great Pesh-Kabz, Moghul India, circa mid of XVIIIth Century. Big dark green jade grip (nephrite), with holeworked ring on top. Heavy fine damascus blade (34 cm), with flat back, engraved on rear with sanskrit script. Fish skin on scabbard (the fish part was probably made later). Despite it’s restored scabbard, with such size and close to mint conditions, this dagger is an exceptionnal sample of Moghul pieces. Price : 4 800...

Very scarce hunting dagger, Louis XVI gift

Exceptionnal hunting dagger, given to Rodez-Bénavent count by king Louis XVI. Very well ciseled lion head pommel. Wired ivory grip (some light losses on the upper part). « Box » guard with lion-heads Roman rams on each side (old tin soldering). Heavy flat blade (57 cm), probably in damascus steel, with two reenforcment half-moon pièces. Good leather on wood scabbard with three golded brass pièces. They are deeply engraved on both sides with braces and volutes. The upper one reverse is engraved : « DONNE PAR LE ROI LOUIS XVI, A MARC, ANTOINE, JOSEPH, COMTE DE RODEZ-BENAVENT » In 1784, the viscount Marc, Antoine, Joseph de Bénavent was captain in the Colonel-General Regiment. The same year, he was received in Versailles with the court honours and « made » Rodez-Benavent count by the king. Then, he was admited in the royal coach. Knight in the St Louis order in 1786, he was major in the Royal Infantry Regiment in 1788 and first Colonel in the same Regiment in 1791. With the Revolution troubles, he left France and was in charge of a Chasseurs-nobles company in Condé army. When the Empire Fallen, he returned in France and died in Paris in 1815. His descendants are presents in the various French political regims all along XIXth century. All the parts of this piece are really very high quality made and finished. Price : 5 500 Euros  ...

Hunting dagger, XVIIIth century

Hunting dagger, middle of the XVIIIth century, probably French made. Silvered brass mounting (45% of the original silver plate is still present). Big ebony grip, carved with vertical lines. Three oval nails on each side. « S » quillons guard, engraved in specific « rocaille » style. Very heavy two fullers blade, in grey patina (4,3 cm on rear and 55,5 cm lenght) with a central engraved flat part (this blade is the rear part of a French cavalry heavy sword from the end of XVIIth century). Good brown leather on wood scabbard, with three silvered brass elements, ornate with lines (the upper button is missing). Price : 900 Euros....

White Buffalo saber suspension belt, XIXth century

White Buffalo saber (and bayonet) suspension belt, begining of XIXth century. All in white Buffalo, the band is locked with a two pins buckle. In the lower part, two rings. One is for the saber, the other one for the socket bayonet. Uniform color, no lack or any restauration. The buckle is still an hand-made one and the Buffalo band, presents various thickness all along (Not a mechanical cut). This piece is very rare in such conditions. Price : 800 Euros....

French officer revolver pattern 1892 holster. All black varnish leather with belt and brass elements (varnish a little alterated in some parts). Sewings are still present. The Inside part is handwritten « revolver 26 616 » and « Chambeault étudiant de droit, Maurice -1914-1915 ». High quality fabrication (probably a private production, especially for fortunate officers) in reall good conditions. SOLD.  ...
